Ever since graduating from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, I’ve dreamt of creating a uniquely designed
hospital with a calming interior. I wanted clients and their pets to walk into my practice and feel like they were entering my home—warm and inviting with a sense of style.|

After a yearlong search, I found my current site—a 1920s Victorian home previously owned by the neighborhood church and home to many nuns. On May 12, 1990, after months of construction, we successfully
converted this four-bedroom home into Animal Medical Center of Chicago.

From the moment we opened our doors, clients and pets are pleasantly surprised by the interior of Animal Medical Center of Chicago. They see familiar sites – Arts and Crafts furniture mixed with contemporary
fixtures in the living room, an oak paneled receptionist desk, stained glass windows and original artwork. Pets are excited to discover the cookie jar on the reception desk.

In 2004, we added a minimalist expansion to the rear of the home to meet our expanding practice needs. This included the addition of 4 examination rooms, a large treatment room, a new dental and surgical
suite, and an elevator to help pets and clients who need assistance.

In 2016, we created a Comfort Room for clients to privately say good-bye to their pets. We transformed one of our second floor examination rooms to a Feline-Only Examination room after we recognized the
importance of examining cats away from canine distractions.

It’s been a fabulous 28 plus years since Animal Medical Center opened its doors. Over the years we have treated tens of thousands of patients and have gained the respect of our community for practicing high
quality medicine and surgery in a friendly and caring environment.
