Sophisticated Medicine From A to Z

Animal Medical Center of Chicago promises you and your pet expert care in every aspect of veterinary medicine.

Allergies: Greer serum allergy testing is available to identify your pet's sensitivities. A variety of prescription diets are available for your food allergy pets.

Anesthesia: Pre-anesthetic bloodwork catered specifically to your pet is preformed on all surgical patients in order to minimize risks associated with anesthesia. Along with the safest injectable agents and gas anesthesia, we continually monitor all pets with an electrocardiogram, capnograph, blood pressure machine, a state-of-the-art oxygen-blood gas monitor, and a ventilator.

Behavior: Whether you are dealing with a brand new puppy or an older animal that just needs a little help, our certified veterinary technicians and doctors have a vast array of knowledge in the field and can lend a helping hand to any behavior issue.

Convenience: We are conveniently located at the corner of Ashland and Diversey in the friendly Lakeview community. There is always plenty of street parking and we also offer four parking spots off the alley behind our building.

Dentistry: Full treatment regimens include prophylactic cleaning and polishing, fluoride treatment, surgical extractions, dental radiographs, and home dental care. In addition, board certified dental specialist, Dr. Cindy Charlier, is available upon request for more advanced dental care.

Education: Education is an essential component in our interaction with all our clients. With a large library of written materials to take home with you, your learning doesn't have to end in the examination room.

Endoscopy: We offer examination of the digestive tract by a sophisticated fiber optic medical instrument.

Finances: We accept cash, check, debit card, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Geriatrics: As your pet grows older, we recommend twice yearly wellness visits to help identify potential health problems.

Happy Staff: We believe in hard work and we thoroughly enjoy working with pets and their owners. This is our passion!

Internal Medicine: Our range of care includes diabetes, feline hyperthyroidism, canine hypothyroidism, heart, liver, and kidney diseases, blood transfusions, and chemotherapy.

Laboratory: A fully equipped laboratory permits on-site evaluations in serology, parasitology, urology, and blood chemistry. We are also affiliated with respected universities and laboratories for comprehensive blood analysis and biopsies.

Multiple pet discounts: Any time you bring in two or more pets for the same services, you will automatically receive a 10% discount on your visit.

Pharmacology: Our on-site pharmacy includes a complete inventory of the latest in pharmaceuticals and prescription diets.

Preventive Medicine: Animal Medical Center is fully equipped for vaccinations, parasitic control and immunotherapy. We feel that the best way to cure disease is to prevent it.

Radiology: An on-site X-ray facility with an automatic processor means both routine and sophisticated studies are quickly processed and performed with minimal radiation exposure. We intend to have a fully digital radiology suite by March, 2008. Consultations with board certified radiologists are available through telemedicine.

Surgery: A wide range of surgeries are preformed here in a state-of-the-art surgical suite. Intensive anesthetic monitoring is preformed on all surgical patients by one of our certified veterinary technicians. Our focus on pain management is integral to the successful outcome of your pet's surgical recovery. Orthopedic surgeries are referred to specialty practices.

Time: No question or concern is too big or too small, and we will take all the necessary time to explain everything to you, from nail trims to our surgical protocols.

Ultrasonography: An on-site ultrasound machine is available for evaluation of your pet's internal abdominal organs. Consultations with board certified ultrasonographers are available through telemedicine. For cardiac ultrasounds a Board Certified Cardiologist is available upon your request.

Website: With our interactive website, you can take care of your pet's prescription food and drug refills, request appointment times, ask our staff questions and view your pet's vaccine history all from your own personal computer.

Zoonotic Medicine: As concern increases over transmitting animal-to-human diseases such as roundworms and toxoplasmosis, Animal Medical Center emphasizes education, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
