Dogs and cats suffer from allergies just like people but unlike us, they tend to scratch rather than sneeze. To help manage your pet's allergies, medication, hypoallergenic diets, medicated shampoos and immunotherapy are available at AMC. In addition, serum allergy testing is available to identify the specific allergens your pet is allergic to and create a unique desensitization treatment plan.
Safety comes first! Pre-anesthetic bloodwork is preformed on all surgical patients in order to minimize risks associated with anesthesia. Along with the safest injectable agents and gas anesthesia, we continually monitor all pets with an electrocardiogram, capnograph, blood pressure machine, a state-of-the-art oxygen-blood gas monitor, and use a ventilator on each patient to maintain perfect depth and rate of respiration.

The number one health problem diagnosed in cats and dogs over 4 years of age is periodontal disease. Dental disease can be painful and may lead to serious liver, kidney, and heart disease. We provide an extensive and progressive dental care program for your pets. Under general anesthesia, ultrasonic scaling is performed above and below the gum line, followed by a thorough polishing and probing of dentition. Our digital dental radiography systems allows our doctors to detect the pathology beneath the gum line. Dental extractions and bonding are performed by our veterinarians who have advanced training in dentistry. Click here for more information.

The decision to euthanize your pet will be one of the most emotionally difficult and stressful decision you will ever make regarding your pet’s care. When your pet’s death is inevitable, euthanasia may provide a compassionate end to your pet’s suffering and preserve his/her dignity at the end of life. Every staff member at AMCOC acknowledges the graveness of this situation and will be available with little advanced notice to preform this service. A special room, called the Comfort Room, is available on the second floor of our facility to give you and your family time to prepare and grieve privately. Please do not hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can do to help you during this difficult time.
