Please join us in serving hot meals to hungry youths!

Broadway Methodist Church
3338 N Broadway, Chicago IL
When: Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm

What: The “Youth Lounge” provides space for youth to hang out and get a hot meal. Operating since 2010, two Saturdays a month, they serve around 60-70 youth a session. Even though its primary focus is youth, they do not ask age, so various ages participate. The lounge provides a home-cooked meal, as well as space for warmth, games, and creative expression. Participants are primarily those who identify as LGBTQ, 90% people of color, 55% homeless.
Some tasks we might be asked to do: serve food, set up the space, interact with the youth by means of conversation/board games/video games/wardrobe selection from their onsite thrift room, and clean-up space.
Dress: Casual.
