The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center has released its new free mobile app – APCC by ASPCA. The app focuses on dogs, cats, horses, and birds and was created as an owner-friendly pet app. The app lists over 275 toxins. The app helps owners quickly and accurately identify common household hazards, toxic and non-toxic plants, potentially harmful medications, as well as warm or cold weather hazards within the searchable database.

The app features color-coding for each identified toxin, built-in anticoagulant rodenticide and chocolate dose calculators, one-touch access to the ASPCA APCC 24/7/365 hotline number, and example images and potential symptoms for each listed substance. The built in calculators provide quick and accurate information to help determine the level of concern if these items are ingested. Information in the app comes from the experts at the ASPCA’s Animal Poison Control Center, where experts are available 24 hours a day. The app is available for download for iPhone and Android mobile devices. http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/download-our-free-aspca-apcc-mobile-app
